Founded in 1953, Cape Breton University is a public degree-granting institution, located on beautiful Cape Breton Island, in the province of Nova Scotia, in Canada. Cape Breton University has 5,000 full-time and part-time students, including 1,000 international from 40 countries. The four faculties at Cape Breton University are Arts and Social Sciences, the Shannon School of Business, Science and Technology and Professional Studies.

The Faculty of Business Administration currently offers Bachelor’s degree courses in six disciplines, in Business Administration, Marketing, Corporate Finance, Banking, Commercial Business Management and Foreign Trade. In addition it offers two Associate Bachelor’s degree courses in Banking Services and Marketing Services, and a Linking program, from the Professional to the Academic Bachelor degree levels, in Business Administration, Corporate Finance and Banking.

In 2013, DTU developed a project to offer a General Practitioner major, and received permission to start enrolling in the 2015-2016 academic year. The curriculum was built according to the 2001 Ministry of Education and Training guidelines for consistent implementation across the country.

In 2009, the Ministry of Education and Training authorized DTU to offer a university level Bachelor of Nursing degree as part of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. As enrollment increased, the Faculty of Nursing was split off in November 2013 and began to offer a General Nursing major. Up to now, the faculty has graduated one thousand Bachelors of General Nursing and many now hold important positions in medical facilities in Danang and elsewhere.

Founded in 2015, the Faculty of Law evolved from the School of Law and was a key part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Over the past three years, the School of Law has developed a team of enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced lecturers. As a result, on August 7th 2017, the Faculty of Law was established, offering two majors, Law and Economic Law.

The DTU Pharmacy faculty was founded on December 10th 2012, and offers a five-year regular major in university level Pharmacology and a concentrated four-year regular Pharmacology Linking Program. Initially the faculty had only three classes with 180 students but today 1,000 are enrolled.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages was established in 1997, only a few years after DTU itself, which is why it has always enjoyed the special attention of the University Board. Over the course of twenty years of experience teaching English, the faculty has contributed strongly to the development of DTU as a whole.

Given society’s ever increasing need for more human resources in electronics, in 2009 DTU split the School of Telecommunications Engineering off to found the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the mission to train a high-quality workforce and to do research to support the economic development of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, and in particular of Danang.

With its many new preferential policies, beginning in the 2016 linking program enrollment season, DTU is officially enrolling students in Architecture and in Electricity and Electronics programs, in addition to the existing traditional ones. DTU is offering additional new study choices, to allow students from the Central Highlands to increase their levels and receive diploma.

Located in Danang, about 500 meters from Han River, construction of this building started at the beginning of 2008 and was officially opened in March 2009, at a cost of 100 billion VND. This is one of the biggest educational facilities in Danang.

Since its very foundation on 11th November 1994, DTU had three departments: Business Administration, Information Technology, and Foreign Languages. In particular, the Department of Business Administration was founded by the University and officially became active the 23rd January 1995. The Department offered courses in Accounting & Auditing, Business Administration, Finance and Credit, and Economics & Tourism, at that time.

The Faculty of Information Technology (IT) was founded on November 11th 1994 when Duy Tan University was established. Over the past 23 years, the faculty has developed steadily, worthy of being the most important major at DTU and graduating highly-skilled professionals into the local workplace.
